INGREDIENTS FOR BHALLE

1. 1/2 cup Yellow Gram ( Moong Dal)

2. 1 cup Black Gram ( Dal Mash)

3. 1/2 cup Raisins

4. 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds

5. 2-3 table spoon Water

6. Salt to taste

7. 2 Chopped Green Chilies

8. 1 inch Grated Ginger

9. Water as required

10. 1/2 teaspoon

11. 1/2 teaspoon Asafoetida (heng)

12. A pinch of Salt

RECIPE

1. Wash the Dals well and  Soak all the Dals (Grams) separately for 5-6 hours.

2. Once soaked then drain the water and again wash them properly.

3. Add Black Gram in a mixer grinder jar and  2-3 table spoon water and grind it into a fine paste. Put this paste into a large bowl.

👉 Use minimal water while grinding the dals (Grams)

4. Grind the Moong dal in the same way and also transfer it into the same bowl.

👉 Moong dal will be easily grinded so there is no need to add water in it while grinding

5. Add Salt to taste and mix it well using hands until both the dals have combined.

👉 After combining the dal mixture we need to whisk the mixture for 9-10 minutes. For this purpose you can use a whisk or do it by moving your hands in a circular up and down motion. It will make the mixture fluffy and pale.

6. Now scoop up the mixture in a spoon and flip it upside down, if the mixture does not drop down, its mean the mixture is ready.

7. Add Raisins, Cumin Seeds, Chopped Green Chilies and grated Ginger. Mix all the ingredients well with light hands.

8. Add lukewarm Water, Salt and Asafoetida in a bowl and mix well. This water will be used to soak the bhallas after frying.

9. Add Oil in a frying pan and heat it on medium flame.

10. Now dip your hands in ice cold water and scoop out some batter then drop it carefully in hot oil.

👉 We dip our hands in ice cold water so that the Batter does not stick to our hands.

11. Immediately splash the bhallas with hot oil, so that they puff up nicely.

12. Fry the Bhallas on medium high heat the Bhallas become light golden brown.

13. When they turn light golden brown remove them from the Oil using Spider and immediately transfer bhallas into the water that you prepare for soaking the bhallas.

👉 Soak the Bhallas for 4-5 minutes or until they sink.

14. Now remove the Bhallas from the water and squeeze them in your hands to remove all extra water.

👉 Bhallas are ready.
