Fish Karahi is a famous Pakistani dish also popular in North Indian dish. It is cooked in spicy tomato gravy. Fish Karahi is often known for its rich and spicy flavors, which come from a blend of spices, chilies and herbs.
Fish Karahi is served with Naan, Rice and garnish with fresh Coriander and lemon.
It is a perfect dish for seafood lovers and those who enjoy the spicy food. There are so many recipes but here I will share an amazing recipe with you. Follow all the steps below.
INGREDIENTS
1. Boneless Fish 500 gram
2. 1 pinch of Lahori Salt
3. 2 table spoon Vinegar
4. 4-5 Green Chilies
5. 1 teaspoon Carom Seeds
7. 2 inch Ginger
8. 1 medium size Onion
9. 4-5 Tomatoes
10. A pinch of Salt or as required
11. 1 table spoon Dried Coriander
12. 1/2 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
13. 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
14. 1/2 teaspoon Cumin Powder
15. 5 table spoon Yogurt
16. Ground Mixed Powder (Garam masala)
17. Fresh Coriander for Garnishing
18. Cooking Oil
19. Water as required
RECIPE
1. Add Fish, Salt, Carom Seeds and Vinegar in a mixing bowl. Mix well and leave it for 8-10 minutes.
2. After 10 minutes wash the fish and strain it.
3. Add cooking Oil in a wok and heat it.
4. Now add Sliced Onion and green chilies, Garlic and Ginger to it. Saute it. Then bring this mixture out in a bowl.
5. Add this mixture in a juicer jug and add 1 cup of water to it. Grind well to make a smooth paste. Then bring that paste out in another bowl.
6. Now add tomatoes and1/2 cup water in juicer jug and grind it well to make a tomato paste.
7. In the same leftover Oil pan add 5-6 table spoon Cooking Oil and heat it.
8. Add fish to the Oil and deeply fry it for 3-4 minutes and continuously stirring the spoon. Then bring the fish out and set it aside in a plate or a bowl.
9. In the same leftover Cooking Oil add Onion paste and cook it for 2-3 minutes.
10. Add Tomato paste, salt, Coriander Powder, Carrom Seeds, Red Chili Powder, Turmeric Powder and Cumin Seed Powder. Cook it for 3-4 minutes on medium to low flame.
11. On low flame add yogurt and cook it for 2-3 minutes.
12. Add small 1/2 cup water and fried fish in the paste, cover and cook for 10 minutes on low flame.
13. Add ground mix powder and mix it.
14. Delicious Fish Karahi is ready. Dish out in a serving bowl and garnish with green chilies, ginger, and fresh coriander.
