Onion Pickle

 Onion Pickle is a popular condiment in many South Asian Cuisine, including Pakistan, India and Bangladesh. It is made by Onion, oil and different spices.

There are so many benefits of onion and onion pickle. Onion pickle contain fiber, which help in digestion and prevents constipation. Onion have antibacterial and anti inflammatory properties which can reduce inflammation and improve overall health. 



There are many recipes of Onion pickle but here I will share an authentic and very easy recipe with you. Follow all the steps.


INGREDIENTS


1. 500 gram Onion


2. 5-6 Green Chilies


3. 3 table spoon Lemon Juice


4. 1/2 teaspoon Chat Masala


5. 1/4 teaspoon Dried Mango Powder (amchoor powder)


6. 1 teaspoon Fennel Seeds


7. 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric Powder


8. 1 teaspoon Red Chili Powder


9. 1 teaspoon Salt


10. 1/4 teaspoon Mustard Seeds (rai dana)


11. 1/2 cup Mustard Oil


12. 7-8 Cloves (long)


13. 1/4 teaspoon Hing Powder


RECIPE


1. Cut the Onion into slices. Make sure that the slices should neither too thick nor too thin. Add Salt and let it sit for 30 minutes to allow the Onion to soften and release their liquid. 




2. After 30 minutes drain the excess liquid from the Onions and add long sliced Green Chilies, Lemon juice, Chat Masala, Dried Mango Powder, Fennel Seeds, Turmeric Powder and Red Chili Powder in it and mix well.




3. Take a pan and add mustard Oil in it and heat it on medium flame. 


4. Add Mustard Seeds, Cloves and Hing Powder to it and cook well for 1-2 minutes. 




5. Pour this Oil to the prepared Onion mixture and mix well.


6. Put this mixture to an air tight container and after two days the pickle will be ready to eat.




7. You can eat with your favorite food, Rice and naan.


👉 You can store Onion Pickle for 3-4 months.
