KABULI PULAO

Kabuli Pulao is a traditional Afghan Rice Dish. It is also known as Qabili Palaw. It s made with Basmati Rice, tendered chicken or piece of lamb and some other spices. 




There are many recipes but here I will share my unique, special and easy recipe of Kabuli Pulao with You.

Follow all the steps.


INGREDIENTS

1. Ghee 200 gram


2. 2-3 medium size Onion


3. 1 kg Chicken


4. 2 table spoon Sugar


5. 1 tablespoon Black Cumin


6. 2 Green Cardamom


7. 1/2 table spoon Salt or as per taste


8. 2-3 Carrots


9. 2 table spoon Raisins or as per taste


10. 2 table spoon Almonds or as per taste


11. 1 kg Basmati Rice


12. Water


RECIPE

1. Heat Oil in a large pan and add Onion and cook until the onions are translucent. 

It will take 2-3 minutes.


2.  Add the Chicken and cook for 3-4 minutes or  until  browned.


3. Now add Sugar, Black Cumin Powder and Green Cardamom and fry for 3-4 minutes.


👉 Peel the Carrot and cut into small and thin slices.




4.  Add Carrots and Raisins to it and again fry for 3 minutes. 


5. Add Water and bring to a boil.


👉  If you have 2 cups or Rice in 1 kg then use 3 and half cups of water when you are cooking in a pan.


But If you are using a pressure cooker then you have to use 1 cup of water as well.


6. Now add Rice to it and stir gently. 


7. Dry the Rice water on medium flame.


👉 Soak the almonds in water for half an hour and then peel them. 


  8. When Rice Water becomes dry and bubbles start forming on it add 1/2 table spoon Ground Black Cumin, Almonds, Raisins and remaining Carrots on its top.


9. Cover the lid with aluminum foil and let it cook for 25 minutes in low flame. 


10. Very tasty Kabuli Pulao is ready to serve. Traditionally, Kabuli pulao is served with a side of yogurt or salad.
