Tamarind sauce is popular in south asian countries. It enhances the taste of any snack. It can be eaten with samosas, pakoras, channa chat, dhai barhay and even with chicken items.
Thee are many recipes of making tamarind sauce but here I will share my unique and special recipe with you.
Follow all the steps and make a delicious Tamarind sauce or imli chutney.
Ingredients
1. 200 grams Dry Tamarind (imli)
2. 2 glass of Water
3. 150 gram Jaggery (gurh)
4. 1/2 teaspoon Salt
5. 1 teaspoon Cumin powder
6. 1 teaspoon Red Chili Flakes
7. 1/4 teaspoon Black Salt
8. 2 table spoon Sugar
9. 1 table spoon White Vinegar
Recipe
1. Put Tamarind including seeds in a pan.
2. Add 2 glass of water into it and turn on the flame.
3. Leave it to cook on medium flame for 10 minutes.
4. After 10 minutes turn off the flame.
5. Strain the Tamarind water.
6. Also remove the pulp that is attached to the seeds of tamarind and put it in a separate bowl.
7. Now put this pulp into the juicer jug.
8. Also add the strained tamarind water into the jug.
9. Grind it about 30-40 seconds.
10. Now add it back to the same pan and turn on the flame
11. Add jaggery into small pieces.
12. Melt the jaggery on medium flame and keep stirring the spoon along with it.
13. Melt the jaggery for 3 minutes.
14. Now add salt, cumin powder, chili flakes and black salt to it.
15. After adding all the spices, let it cook for another 3-4 minutes so that the jaggery also melt.
16. At this time add sugar to it. Sugar contain chemicals that will prevent the sauce from spoiling.
17. Cook till the sugar water dries up.
18. Now keep it to cool completely.
19. Add vinegar after it cools. Vinegar will also prevent it from spoiling for several days.
20. Take out into a bowl and enjoy with your favorite snacks.
